It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 16/4/18 #IMWAYR

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly post to share what you recently finished reading, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan on reading next. This is a terrific meme that allows you to meet fellow bookworms and find new books to add to your ever-growing reading wish list.

I first spotted this weekly meme on Reading Between The Pages, although it is actually hosted by The Book Date.

What I read last week:

The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul – I really enjoyed this lovely story of family and friendship, filled with well drawn landscapes. I could see the scenery and smell the smells!

Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House – You will not like this book if you are a Trump fan. I deliberately borrowed this from the library so as not to have to pay out for it. It’s not well written. It’s clunky, it jumps about, and it just basically confirms everything in the media. Is it fact, or is it fiction? What I do know is that even with limited access to Trump, a lot of the book talks about the people around him rather than Trump himself. It was a hard slog, and proved an excellent cure for my insomnia! If you aren’t big on non-fiction it’s one to avoid.

What I’m currently reading:

Murder by Fire, by Faith Martin – I plan to start this one today. I’ve got a few days away coming up so I’m back to reading things from my Kindle.

What I plan to read next:

Murder at Work, by Faith Martin – this is her latest, it only came out a few days ago.

What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books?

  1. I was so tempted by Fire and Fury but by the time I’d seen the author in a thousand interviews, I disliked him nearly as much as I dislike Trump, so decided against it! So I’m kinda glad to hear I haven’t missed a great read. Now I’m trying my best to resist James Comey’s book… 😉
